We've learned the difference between fact, opinion, and informed opinion
We've learned about the elements of an essay and learned about how to decide on an opinion and defend it.
From these two different points of view, as a class we separated and argued, which is the better pet and developed our own informed opinion.
We learned how to form paragraphs with introduction sentences, facts, and transition sentences.

Writing Topic: Personal Narratives
A good personal narrative must have...
- A seed moment (small moment to write about)
- Details that relate to the small moment (just before and just after the moment)
- Include the writer's "voice", it can be:
- Dialogue
- Character's emotions / feelings
- Juicy words
- Use of senses to describe actions
- Describing the scene
- An exciting lead, that captures the readers attention. It can be:
- Describe the actions of the main character.
- Describe the actions of another character.
- Describe a feeling / emotion
- An ending that wraps up the important ideas
- Narrative is broken into paragraphs that make sense
- Narrative is revised and edited
